I made 5 attempts to purchase books at £1 but each time I was directed to sign up for 12 months on the £14.99 PM service. In the end, I settled for two months free trial. Now I need to buy an MP3 player or can I just download the trial books to my hard drive?
I think Audible r a really good company.I joined thr Pigsback but without checking on Audibles "device centre" and found that my budget mp3 was incompatible. Check this section out Otherwise you can download to hard drive and burn them on to Cd - I am thinking of buying a creative product portable device

I think this link takes you to the right page to see the £1 books http://www.audible.co.uk/aduk/store/category.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&uniqueKey=1141911625467&oid=-29222
Sorry - I should have checked this out before posting.

Forgive me for asking but are you sure thats correct? I tried to join today and purchase some £1 books but I could not proceed.

Are you calling me a liar? Of course this is correct, like many people on here have said. You register for FREE and buy whatever you like without subscription.

    Hi
Yes, you download the books to your hd, but if you had a player you could listen to them on that as well, ideal for travelling/work etc.

    Hope this helps

    Hi
No he's not calling you a liar, he's just explaing how he couldn't do it, not as easy for some people as others. He obviously just needs a little help, nothing wrong with that.

I'm sorry if you took offence at my post! I did not doubt your word. It was just that I had tried and failed.
No offence meant, I assure you.

I'm glad someone could see into my post what I meant. I'm not as sharp as I used to be. Thank you.

Feeling guilty now at sowing seeds of confusion! Some people were confused because if you're not logged into audible the home page doesn't show the £1 offer. However, the email I got invites me to tell my friends and sends them to http://recp.rm05.net/ctt?kn=8&m=176064&r=MTEwMjgxMDg1MAS2&b=0&j=NTY4Njg5MTgS1&mt=2&rj=NTY2Nzg3MTQS1 This is a weird address but seems to get to the right offer. It might record that I'm recommending people but I haven't been offered any reward for doing this. The other link that seems to work is posted above. Sorry if this is confusing, guys - I'm doing my best.

I managed to order 3 of the books for £1 each but it is not obvious (to me!) at the start and it took a lot of hunting down. I went such a roundabout way that I ended up searching or the books listed in the original post.
    Cheers
