Virgin HD?

Options
Anyone got an idea when Virgin will be putting out some useful HD?

They're gonna start losing customers if they don't do something this year!

  • I totally agree with you. I have a nice big HD TV and only BBC HD to watch on it. Virgin Media really need to pull their finger out and start broadcasting other HD channels too - why can't we see Channel 4, Eurosport, National Geographic etc. in HD the same as Sky subscribers can? The on-demand HD content Virgin offer is terrible too - it's hardly changed since I received my V+Box 18 months ago. Also I'm not going to pay the high prices to watch the HD movies on demand. I just want the same choice that Sky subscribers have with their HD content but it seems Virgin are unwilling to supply it.

Virign Media appear too concerned about offering the fastest broadband service and quote speeds like 20 & 50 meg download speeds. I pay for the 20 meg connection and don't get anything higher than 5 on a normal day and it usually drops to 2 or less on a Sunday!

I am seriously considering moving to Sky HD but would rather not have the hassle of switching phone, broadband and TV. I'll give Virgin another 4 months to see if they've improved things.

I feel the same way! They said in December that they will launch more HD Channels. Its April and they still have not done anything!

Whilst I have always found Virgin to be much better in terms of support than Sky when something is amiss, I have to say that there is something very lacking and it could be just poor foresight. I was very happy with Telewest but it all went to pot when it became Virgin.

Agree with all that's been said. Have spent a small fortune on all singing and dancing tv and sound system and really disappointed to only be able to receive the BBC HD channel on Virgin. Content of this channel is mostly c**p, especially throughout the day. If Virgin don't get this right - and soon - the whole new HD age audience will be leaving in droves. Come on Virgin - put your customers first.

Nothing to pay them for, that's the point!!

I guess I'd be happy to pay a bit extra for HD.

Well no not really, you are expecting more HD channels for no more cost?

Sky customers have to pay to get the HD channels, so I would imagine if Virgin had some HD channels you would have to pay for them also.

I understand you are saying they haven't got any channels for you to pay for

I was just trying to point out that Sky customers dont get them for free as someone in this thread was comparing the Virgin HD with the Sky HD

If you have the XL package of TV it's included but you pay £49 for the V+ box install. Any other package and it's £99 install and £5 a month for the V+ box.
