OOh...and another 10p...double scratch card day! Yey!
I've just recalculated my total debt and realised that due to a couple of CC payments that I'd forgotten about, the above company dipping into my CC and associated charges, my debt is indeed over £10k now.

Following a payment to get my card back under it's limit and my £1 a day payment, my debt has reduced by £22.
Now where can I find a spare fiver to get back under £10k? Think I'll clean out the car and look for coins...:rotfl:Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

I've just snowballed all my debts and got a nasty shock. If I continue to make the payments I'm making now, I will take 827 months to clear the debt and pay pver £100 million in interest. I thought I'd read it wrong and it was £100,000 but no. Millions.
One of my cards is on interest only and when this period end, I think in June but it may be before that, my debts will start to rise again.
I would like to set a realistic target but I don't really know what would be realistic. Some months we're not quite solvent if the road tax needs paying or the car needs MOTed. How can I promise to pay a certain amount of the debt every month when I don't even know if the bills will get covered?
Maybe I need to give up being self-employed and get a proper job. I need to give this some serious thought.Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

One of my credit cards has just added some charges this morning so I've woken up to more debt than I had when I fell asleep last night. It's starting to seem like the harder I try to reduce it, the bigger the debt gets. I keep reminding myself that if I wasn't trying to fix this, the debt might be even bigger.
OH is now registered for scratch cards so we're both doing them daily.
My free bets have come through but odds last night were terrible so I'm going to look again today.
I phoned the finance dept at the main organisation I work for and they haven't received my invoices from our office yet. Grr. I'm going to phone again later today as this company are notoriously bad at paying on time.
I need to juggle money at the bank which is closed right now but I'll go after lunch. I also need to speak to them about my £1 payment going through 7 times. It only appeared once on the card statement so something's not right.
I didn't get my ebay sales listed today but will do it later.

I also need to get the car going (it's off the road and has a dead battery) and take it out on the road to try and unlock the back wheel brake. It's a lovely looking wee car but needs an MOT which will possibly cost as much as it's worth. I can't decide if it's better to sell it or not. At least it won't cost us money I guess if we don't have it. But having a spare car is invaluable cos our main car is really old (but bigger and comfier than the other one). We live in the middle of nowhere and currently have no break down cover as it was due 3 days ago and I haven't paid it yet.
But 2 MOTs, 2 sets of insurance and 2 road taxes are well beyond our means at the moment.
Decision made. It needs to go.Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05
