  • Yesterday I secured a day's work per week for the foreseeable future from an organisation I trust. My fee of £250 per day has had a big impact on the budget.

    Incomings (after tax): £1131.76
    Outgoings: £1125.14

I think we're solvent. Wow. In the past, small amounts of work have then led on to larger amounts so fingers crossed it keeps coming.

    Happy day. :D

  • I didn't sign up with the agency. I made a decision not to as I just could not bear the thought of it on the day. They were very nice when I cancelled the appointment and said I could do it any time I'm ready.

I haven't signed up for mystery shopping yet but hope to get onto it today.

My marketing is still going well and I have another couple of possibilities for some work in the pipeline.

I need to go and number crunch now. Will update again later.

  • So yesterday I signed up to 3 mystery shopping sites. I hope they get in touch soon. I'm feeling so low about all this today. I need to try and chirp up a bit.

  • Lucky, I think everyone goes through those feelings when facing the joy(not) that is debt. It comes in fits and starts. Look at your posts from yesterday - solvent!!

Are you doing the free scratchcards, they always cheer me up! (on Virgin and Butlins)

    Wishing you perky thoughts

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Thanks Buffy. No I haven't started scratch cards yet but will get right on to it.I just discovered the fabby spreadsheet for keeping an eye on incomings, outgoings, debt repayments etc. It's great and a much better system than I currently have (a pile of scrap paper in a folder). Just discovered it's going to take me 8 years to pay off this debt at the current rate and that's probably not including interest. I need to do more.

  • I don't know what's up with this site lately. I just spent a good hour cooking up a plan and trying to post it but it won't post. Even saving the text and trying again doesn't work. It comes out in one big, incomprehensible lump. I'll try again tomorrow. The basics are that I'm going to pay this debt off in 7 months. When I can get this site (or maybe it's my computer?) to work properly, I'll post my plan.Happy day.

Thanks missy. I think I need all the support I can get!

    So here's the plan:-

Sell our second car. We're going to have to manage with one. Total raised = £500

Sell any books or anything I have lying around the house. Total = £100

    Type A work (find 4 clients) = £3456

    Type B work (find 3 clients) = £864

    Type C work (find 3 clients) = £1980

MiL has been trying to give us cash for years and years. We always say no. This time we're going to say yes. (Not so sure about this one but OH is all for it.) Total = £700

Matched betting (2 per week) Total = 1400

Mystery shopping (2 per month) Total = £350

Daily clicks @ £3 per day (me and OH) Total = £1260

Anyway, having included the upcoming wedding costs and Christmas, and tax. This should have us debt free in 7 months. By May 1st 2010. So here's to my 215 day challenge.
