Help! Anyone know what what the first 4 digits...

Options
... of a Halifax credit card are?

The ****'s are claiming they can't find my old account. I have given them all details but they say they need the account number. I have threatened the Info Commissioner but still nothing.

The other day I found an old voucher which started 4556. I think this is it. Can anyone confirm.

Take it to the Information Commissioner if you have given all the details for them to locate the account and they have not complied within 40 days

The information commissioners office are currently working on November cases. They seemed to think it was a ploy to hold up the process.

Like i said, I found what I think is the correct number but just need someone with a Halifax card to confirm that the first four number relate to Halifax.

    Anyone?????

When was the card taken out and when did the account close? There a quite a few different numbers that Halifax cards could begin with anyway.

Not a chance. I don't think anyone would be silly enough to give you their Halifax bank card (first four numbers or otherwise). Bearing in mind the context of this request.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Considering how long it has been the only other option is to sue the bank for non compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998..

The first 4 numbers identify the card provider. I was asking if someone had a card with the same starting four numbers and could confirm that it was a Halifax account.

To think that by doing that someone was putting their card in jeopardy is quite frankly ridiculous. After all there are another 12 digits. Perhaps you need to do some research regarding the anatomy of credit card numbers before you start scaremongering on here.

I found this site and the card was a Halifax one http://www.good-stuff.co.uk/creditcards/

Right, now to get stuck in to HALIFAX.

Not sure abusing someone who did try to offer advice and did clarify why they thought it was a bad idea to post any credit card details on the WWW. Perhaps, researching it yourself(which belatedly you did) would have been better.

I think perhaps you need to look up the meaning of abuse.

As I have said before, the first 4 numbers relate to the card provider only and are not exclusive to one card. All I asked for was if someone could confirm that Halifax credit cards started with the number I had found on an old slip. Did I actually ask for anyones card numbers? A yes or no would have been sufficient. It's hardly the great credit card scam is it?

The purpose of this forum amongst others is to exchange information.

I note from previous replies to my posts that you appear to avoid actually answering any enquiries to the point of being obtuse.

You really ought to still be working for Nat West.

You first post was about non compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998(that is dealt with by the Information Commissioners Office).--1st Reply
Next one was because they were not complying and you stated that the ICO was working on November so the only recourse you have is the County Court--2nd Reply
Two out of three posts trying to help ain't a bad percentage(third one was simply an opinion as you seemed to be telling the person who was, after all trying to be helpful, to go away).
I am not sure the NatWest Bank or Royal Bank of Scotland Group would agree with your last sentiments however.

My first post asks if the first 4 numbers supplied indicate a Halifax Visa card.

Your first post refers to the ICO. Nil points.

Your second post refers to County Court. Nil points.

All I wanted was a yes or a no to confirm that the 16 digit number I had was Halifax.

Now come on Natwest, do you really think Mr/Mrs Credit Card Scam was trying to be helpful? From your position in a bank, ex or otherwise do you really think that armed with the word "yes" I can help myself to someones funds?

Your real calling must be as a politician. Inability to answer straight questions is highly regarded in that field.

So in summary none out three.
