Incidentally, when I did a comparision on the Brother printer versus a couple of Epson printers on both PC World & Curry's sites, they stated that the Brother's copier wasn't stand alone, but it is. It doesn't depend on your computer to be on for the copying function. :j Just thought it may be worth mentioning this.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Can anyone tell me if they ordered ink from ink emporium for this printer how they found the ink? I was going to get from ink2u or catridgemonkey but the emporium is the cheapest but I just wondered if it was maybe too cheap? I want to print some photos out with it to put on the wall aswell as ordinary printing. Anyone had any probs with the ink or should I just get it from one of the other places and pay a bit more?
    Thanx

Same question as above, Ink Emporium, are these carts any good or better spend few more pounds?

I got them but havent put them in yet. They are on offer and even cheaper till end of this month so it might be worth getting them anyway. I was thinking about getting some spare. They were very quick they came next morning and I ordered quite late the day before I think about 4pm. Once I've used them I'll post on here what they are like
    Thanx

    Go to

All three colours and one black for £9.99 delivered, or four all the same!

Excellent reproduction, next day service. Highly recommended.

The same prices apply to the cartridges for the wireless version (model 340)
  • Hi

Just interested to hear howthese Brother printers are lasting? I was warned away from them as in inferior make compared to the Canons and HPs.

But we're needing an all in one now, and the best option looks like the Brother DCP117C from PC World. (or maybe the new version that's just come out - http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?ReviewID=510 - but I can't see any cheap inks for that yet)

    thanks kindly
    Andy

I'm more than happy with my Brother DCP117c & the running costs are so much lower than the HP printer that I had previously.

If cheap ink carts are not yet available for the new Brother model then you may be wiser to buy another model that you can easy & cheaply obtain cartridges for.

Agree. Ecellent quality printing and economic too. The wireless one (DCP340) is brilliant.

Been getting mine from Choice Stationary at £1.79 with free delivery.

Very satisfied with quality and lifespan.

I ordered a pack of 4 cartridges from Ink Emporium late yesterday afternoon. It is currently £6.79 for a pack of 4 (3 colours, 1 black), including postage. They arrived this morning but I haven't tried them yet, so don't know if they are any good or not.

As to the reliability of the printer, it's much better than the Epson and Canon that I used to have. I'm very happy with it so far.
