  • Is this offer still on? My brother has just asked my opinion on him getting a scanner - I was going to suggest one of these!

Maybe someone else who knows about these things could advise you on this?

The Brother offer isn't on anymore, it's gone back up to £99.99. If it is ever on offer again anywhere and you didn't get one this time round, I would certainly recommend it. It makes my old Epson inkjet look positively prehistoric. I bought the USB cable from Poundworld and it works a treat.

Comet have got 3 other all-in-ones for around £50 but I don't know if they are any good:

    Lexmark X2350 £39.99 with free basic delivery - http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/576_300365.html

Hewlett Packard HP1410 £52.49 (not free delivery though) - http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/576_266140.html

Epson DX3800 £55.23 with free basic delivery - http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/576_285641.html (This is £69.99 instore apparently).

Just to say I had no problems with Comet's delivery of my printer, it came on the day it was supposed to.

Thanks very much to the OP and the person who suggested getting USB cables from a pound shop! :j

I bought the Brother DCP117C from PC world yesterday, Seems like a good printer for £49.99. Looks good, Prints Good and Scans Well. The Ink is extremely cheap as well, you can get all 4 seperate ink tanks for under £6 for the 4. Well worth the money in my book. Read the reviews on the Currys like in the post above this one.

I've just ordered the Canon Pixma MP150 from Euroffice. £41.89 + VAT (£49.22 total) with free delivery.

If you go through Linemypocket, you get 2.5% cashback, AND a 15% discount on your first order, so I've paid £41.83 all in (that's before my cashback).

Inks aren't cheap for this - there doesn't seem to be any remanufactured ones for this model at the moment. This model comes in at around £18 for the colour cartridges, and £12 for the black. That said, we're not heavy printing users, so I I don't anticipate changing the cartridges more than once a year, if that.
  • hi I bought this printer when it was on offer, I reread the posts about replacement ink and wondered if someone could clarify which set should be ordered  ? A direct link would be very helpful to avoid me messing up.

thank you for all your help so far.
