O2 switching off old tech phones
I've got a brick of a phone with O2. A couple of days ago I received the following text from O2-UK. I know others with the same phone and have all received the same message.
"Your O2 phone & SIM is supported by an old technology which we're switching off on 31 May. Please call us on 0800 0894402 as soon as you can for info"
Any one have any more details on this? Can they charge you for a new phone from them given they are imposing this on us? Apparently, they are trying to charge £50+.

That must be an old `un, go on treat yourself.
Is it Pay as you go? If its contract o2 would probably give you an nice new phone and sim foc just for staying with them!

I am going to miss my old phone but have just ordered a Nokia 1100 from Tesco mobile. It has very good reviews on Amazon.0 -
Allegedly they were giving some customers a new PAYG phone, (Nokia 1100). It may depend on how much you use the current one.0
