'turbo sims' drain phone battery?

Anyone know if these put extra drain on a battery,The sim allows you to use any other sim by slotting a sim in to it. ie a Virgin sim can be used on a phoned locked to 3 thanks
never put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow

    If you haven't seen it, there is an article/review about them in the new issue of PC Pro magazine. They worked for the reviewer, he had an iPhone on a Vodafone sim (with full access to app store etc) amongst others.

    Never heard them called "turbo sims" though.
