it doesnt matter what i do, i just seem to accumilate one plastic carrier bag after another.
i always save them (for spare bin bags, or recycling at a local charity shop, or the bag recycling bit at tescos), but they are starting to take over the place, even though i have been starting to decline them wherever possible.
i suppose the option is to buy a tote bag or similar, but i hate having to many bags, having to transfer keys/purse/phone from a to b constantly (i inevitably loose things
), plus i dont know what style of bag i want.
im not old enough for a wally trolly yet, no matter how chic :rotfl:
how do you guys manage?

I use the carrier bags as a bin in my kitchen, then each day i put it outside in my big bin. Saves me trapsing in and out with little bits of rubbish. A friend of mine uses them to pick up after her dog when they go for walks!!!!0

We are lucky in Thurrock. The council has just added plastic carrier bags to its list of weekly recycling pick ups. We each have a box and they come door to door weekly. They take plasticbags, glass, tin, aluminium, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles - lovely.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0

I have a wally trolley and a string bag for fruit/veg:) For shopping at Costco we use the big blue Ikea bags. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

I use them as bin liners for bringing down the rubbish from upstairs. I also hung them up in the garage so that I could fill them with either plastic bottles or tins, which when full I tied up and stored until I did a tip recycling run. We've now got door to door recycling so don't need to do that now. However, it doesn't matter how hard I try, I seem to be losing the battle too

I used to take them back to the recycling bin at Tesco's, but that's long gone. I currently have 3 bags of bags in the garage, waiting until I can recyle them, a bag-full upstairs for bin purposes and huge numbers trying to escape into the kitchen, because I don't know what to do with them. I also keep lots in the car for my Lidl and Aldi shops.
Maybe we could stuff cushion covers and bean bag covers and sell them

kiwi - thanks for that - I just assumed we couldn't put carrier bags into our recyling boxes. I'll have to ask the council - I may have my own answer :j0

I give them to the local newsagent who uses them for customers.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0
