Thing wiggling in fresh cod from Morrisons

They are worms. My husband and dad used to be fishermen. Cod are bottom feeders, and they are often riddled with worms. We won't eat cod.0

Ideally it should be frozen as soon as you can but I have been known to bung stuff in the freezer the next day, if you put it in the fridge straight away and is in an airtight container it should be fine.0 -

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -

Anybody have any advice on whether i should pursue this other than returning the fish for a refund?
No, it's perfectly normal and they are completely harmless. Just remove it and cook the fish.
Morrisons will probably give you a refund out of goodwill, but there is no reason they should have to. There is nothing wrong with the fish you have bought. If the worm was still alive, it's a sign the fish was fresh.0 -
