If you feel like blowing the whistle then maybe tell the Duty Manager that you know that the dodgy Walls £5 printed moc is a screen print of a scanned charity resource booklet. Or would the DM just say if it sans it's OK (then perhaps learn later that he's wrong, when those dud fivers all get returned unpaid)?

Has anyone emailed Wall's or the site that it's on to ask if it's ok to use a print?
After having seen it on the site I am in two minds, it looks identical to the £1 student one. It would be good to know for sure, it would be a shame to be mistaken and miss out.

    Hiya PC,
As most of us know, any PDF moc would look 'identical' to any other PDF moc - once you arrive at the moc page itself.

But the £1 Walls moc (which was OK) came from a site where the pages were all adverts and specific voucher offers which were expressly designed to be downloaded and printed in order to use the vouchers (albeit for students' use). That's all that page of the NUS site is about, AFAIK, just vouchers & offers, and the voucher links are set up with a printer icon.

IMHO the £5 Walls moc is different because it just happens to be on a resource booklet which in its paper form, was sent out to Scout Leaders. That resource booklet is only available in PDF form along with all the other Scout booklets, because someone helpful (and clearly not coupon-aware) at the SA has scanned them into the site.

The voucher is not the reason for the Scout website link, the resource booklet is, so printing the coupon from the booklet page is IMHO the same as printing the Glayva coupon from the Metro page a few months ago. It's a screenshot and no more - and worse than that, it's a screenshot of a moc only intended for the originals to be used by a registered charity.

I haven't contacted Walls - as I'm certain in my own mind that no screenshot moc is ever OK, I can't think of a precedent that was. But I would be interested to hear if any trusted regular here has contacted Walls (or the Scout Association) and got an answer. I'd be completely gobsmacked if they say 'yes, any Tom !!!!!! or Harry can print this and use it...'

I know a regular on PTS has said they have just emailed the Scout Association...no reply yet AFAIK.

Personally I hope Tesco wake up to this one quickly and block it - as I'm certain it will be well before the December expiry when the 'sausages hit the fan' re this moc. I shudder to think how many of these copied screenshot fivers are already being passed through the tills - and we all have to just hope they are not being used in our own locals.

But what a shame the effects of a block will be when Scout Leaders try to use their originals from their booklets, in good faith.

Earn 5p CASHBACK for every internet VOUCHER printed on COUPONnet when you access that site via:
the news of the world cashback site. [notwcashbackDOTcoDOTuk]

Snag: Although NOTW does pay out monthly [via BACS and Amazon vouchers[+5%]], your earnings will need to accumulate to £25 before you get paid. However, a £2.50 bonus is credited to your account on joining.

[Sorry, I tried to make my post more user-friendly, but unfortunately as a newbie I am not yet allowed to include site links.]
