Coupon FAQs

Q: Where can I use the coupons?
A: Tesco and Waitrose stores will accept coupons without purchasing the product (further info here). See below for a copy of the Tesco national policy.

Q: How do I know how many coupons I can use?
A: This varies from store to store. Sometimes it's a percentage of your shop, or it's limited by number of coupons you can use at any one time. Some stores are better than others, try all stores in your area and shop in the one that suits you best. Ask at Customer Services what their in-store policy is.

Q: How many coupons can I print?
A: Most couponnet-type coupons are only available to be printed once (or twice if you click ‘no’ when asked if it printed successfully). Any PDF or JPG coupons can usually be printed as many times as you like (remember to save them to your computer, just in case the online version disappears!).

Q: Is there any way to get more couponnet-type coupons?
A: Yes, but only if you have access to another computer(s). The coupon software knows how many times each individual computer has printed the coupon.

Q: What constitutes ‘abuse’ of the coupon policy?
A: Examples of abuse are: using out-of-date coupons; splitting shopping into several loads and using duplicate coupons on the same day; photocopying or scanning coupons. Abuse may result in the store taking action against you personally (eg banning you) and ultimately may affect the coupon policy for all coupon users.

Q: I'm new and nervous..any hints?

Q: My coupons were refused, any advice?
A: See here or here for info.

Q: How do I know if Tesco stocks the product on the coupon?
A: Sign in or register here and do a search.

Q: I cannot print couponnet coupons any more...any advice?
A: See here for info.

Q: The PDF prints are too big or small and fuzzy....any advice?
A: See here for info.

Q: Does it matter if the coupon is printed in colour or black & white?
A: Technically it should not matter, however some staff automatically equate black & white prints with photocopies - which are NOT permitted.

Q: Do I need to use my real identity (email, etc) when registering for printable coupons?
A: Where possible, the 1st post will indicate whether a genuine email address is required or not (eg when verification is required by clicking a link in a received email). However, in most cases it it ok to use a false email address, since most of the coupons print instantly.

Q: Can I use coupons on the self-scan checkouts?
A: No reason why not - but it's advisable to check with the self-scan supervisor to be sure.

Thanks browntoe, it also gives us another chance to thank honey :T
The nivea freebie on the other thread does not send out coupons as well, just a 10p size TIN of nivea. Not bad for a freebie and quick, got it of freebie board and arrived in a week. Can anybody recommend a cheap printer only where the ink is really cheap or can use refillable, cos mine is £13 a cartridge and not easy to refill, so wanting one just for coupons.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

The Epson sx100 all in one is 1/2 price in tesco at £29.48 out of stock online but they may have them in your local tesco.
I have one and paid approx £20 for 3 full sets of cartridges off ebay.

Thanks for this, could you tell me how I go about recycling the old cartridges for points as changing mine tonight and not sure what I need to do. Thanks

Tesco own brand ink cartridges are actually the ink cartridges you send back :P.

They drill a hole into the original ones, refill with ink and repackage/respll :P.

If you pull back the label on top of the ink cartridge you will hesee the holes toalready drilled open still.

If you want to be uber cheap, buy a tesco value refilling kit (refills my cartridges 3 times!) for colour and black. All you do is syringe the colour back into the cartridge :P.

Cost - 5 quid.... which is cheaper than paying for a new cartridge even if you do get points :P.

I had an Epson all-in-one with continuous ink system for £80 from http://www.inkexpress.co.uk/. I just bought 2 sets of all 4 ink colours and an extra black and it cost me just over £25 but it will last me about 3/4 months (depending on how many coupons available to print:rotfl:).

When I bought the Tesco replacement inside the pack is a recycle bag, so I used that, maybe check instore & ask if they have others. They do seem choosey on what they will recycle though
