ok, thank you, the store i go to only opened this year so i don't know what they will have in their CS folder..
If this is a national policy, how come all Tesco's don't have to obide by it??
I've never used more than 4 coupons, i'm scared to hand over any more..
Ah, if it is a new store it's quite possible you will be the first customer to raise the coupon policy with them. Play it right and you should be OK unless the Store Manager hates coupons.
It is a national policy, it should and is intended to apply to all stores. That's how it was meant when it was sent to stores in the CSM update.
But since then, some stores have had issues with dodgy coupons, blank coupons put in the self-scan, Sainsburys/Somerfield logo coupons etc. If a store suffers too much of a loss from coupons you can understand the SM deciding 'enough is enough'. It has happened to many of us on here.
In one store quite near me, they did abide by the policy but then had to change things and now disallow any internet coupons (even if you buy the product). That was because they were getting too many internet mocs they couldn't redeem (the staff were at fault I believe, possible abuse/photocopying, I'm not sure). That decision was made by the SM and I wouldn't argue with that, some stores have to change things.
But - happily for you - a new store shouldn't have any issues like that. Chances are they have just never looked into the policy. Maybe they have a Till Supervisor drafted in from another store when they first opened, who thinks you have to buy the product. Then all the new staff they took on would all believe that version of coupon policy is true, when it isn't.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Back from my Mystery Shop peeps and it just goes to show that you have to check each time you shop what their policy is...2 weeks ago at this store they took my coupons out of sympathy. 'cos I looked crestfallen when I was told the policy had changed and had to buy the product in future...asked again today, said it's very sad you don't take coupons anymore as I now will only shop here if I'm passing and then for a few things ( couldn't say I'm Mystery Shopping now could I?
)...oh thats changed ,it's back to couponmania again she said ...Woo Hoo!!
Only had a few things and most were products with the coupons from the mag...but she took 2 for Ribena( on different pages of the mag, different codes on them 2 x 50p) and as I had bought some Cif..she took 1 for the product and another as well and then the other one for the Bacterial Cif that I'd printed, as well as Grazia and cereal coupons etc....treated myself to the Gu stuff as well, looks so delicious and there was a £1 coupon in the mag, so used a couponnet ones to cover all that...spent a few pounds for almost £13 worth of stuff, and my Mystery Shop pay will more than cover that:j ....went to Asda and they only had 9 Finish, bloke was amazed, he said , thats all free then ...is that right? He did looked a little confused, asked supervisor who said ...absolutely no probs:T
Yes I said...thank you very much....walked out swinging my bag and smiling at everyone:j ....no Huggies though....but mustn't complain, it's been a good day.0 -
I just want to thank everyone for the huggies. I managed to get 4 boxes with £9 vouchers & gave my sis in law the huggies for her new baby, I'm truly addicted to couponing now!
I think I may have to show my Tesco the policy from the front page as its hit & miss if my coupons get taken.0 -

When I spoke to Duty managers at my local stores (2 of them) I said something like, 'look, here's the policy, this version comes from an open, public forum because it was the easiest place for a customer to find the information. It is the current policy but if you want to check it out I can understand that'.
In my local, a couple of staff members DID know the policy when they saw my printed version so they knew I hadn't made it up. My copied & pasted version did not contain any MSE posts - but one staff member said 'oh do you go on MSE then?' and I cheerfully said 'yes, it's a great forum'. No-one criticised me for doing so, I am not saying they all liked it but it's not something you have to lie about. The only thing I wouldn't tell them, if asked, is my username!
You have no reason to feel embarrassed or apologetic just because you know a Tesco policy which has been in the public domain for 2 years. IMHO, they should feel embarrassed because they don't know it!
The easy way to copy and paste the policy,
is click on the policy wording in the first post,
then right click, select copy image,
open your word processor,
click on the blank page,
right click and select paste.
save the file for future reference
Print off several pages so they can accidentally be dropped around stores;)..... nobody will admit losing it, and it will be snuck into the folder.
One of my locals has the policy from here, in their folder at Custom Service DeskIt's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)
