Got 6 Quantum @ £ 1.70 in Sainsbury's today ( 5 coupons + 20p ) no prob.
I then went to Asda but picked up the wrong Finish @ £ 2.00 instead of Quantum. You'd have thought it was the end of the world. Young trout sent for supervisor, who sent for a gopher to check the shelf the tabs had come from.
As the collective noun has not been used recently, I'll use it now. There appeared, a preponderance of trouts. Young ones, old ones, big ones, small ones, fat ones, thin ones, UGLY ones, more UGLY ones. The queue got bigger and bigger and the tuts' and phews got louder and louder, and everyone was looking at me as though I had just walked dog poo in, or broke wind. I was then told that I could not use the Finish coupons for the wrong Finish.:mad::mad:
I ever so politely told them to shove 'em where the sun don't shine.:p:p I'll stick to Tesco in future. Theyr'e a lovely bunch in my local T'sLife is like a toilet roll. The nearer you are to the end, the faster it goes

I've just returned from seeing both Mr W and Mr T......
Visited a faraway branch of Mr W's today & had my first [ever] go at using coupons in W's. The staff were v.polite but I was told that only three coupons could be submitted. When I dug out my three most valuable ones [:D ], a bit of concern was expressed about their value -ie- £5 off an £8 shop :embarasse....
However when a supervisor arrived & checked, he did confirm that my coupons could be credited in full. No complaints about the staff, but waiting about for all to be checked out was a bit of a cringe .... IMHO this particular branch isn't used to couponers as it is in quite a well-to-do area [if the kind of motors pulling into the car park were anything to go by...]
Later, back on more familiar territory at Mr T's.... the check out lady was an absolute saint and scanned approx £10 worth without complaint. Bless her :T

It was a friends car, but his was only a scratch, but the other persons was a dent on wing. Anyway their really nice about it and pleased that I was honest and went looking for them. I told them if it wasn't too much would rather pay out of insurance cos my excess is £250, then loose no claims. Have just had a phone call to say their neighbour is a panel beater and could do it on the side, so not looking so bad. Wonder if he will take payment in finish tablets or nappies:rotfl:
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

 Why do some people have to be such jobsworths - it didn't require the cast of Ben Hur to sort out your query. It just needs at the most ONE additional staff member to check/give advice.
And yes..... even after my own more pleasant expeditions today, I also feel that bit more comfortable with Mr T's [how many billions are they making??]
Hope next week is better for you-“Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.” - John Kennedy Toole, A Confederacy of Dunces0 -
