I have had to return to Tesco( 3 days running now) left my hair mousse behind this time( note to self , stop talking at checkouts...concentrate more....had paid for it and it had been handed in to customer services)...whilst there I queried oranges on yesterdays receipt..bought 2 and should have been 2 for £3( I thought) but was charged 2 x £1.99...lovely SA said to get another and she would refund me 98p as it was actually 3 for £3...excellent thought I , but then the till blipped whilst she was doing it and it insisted she gave me the oranges and £3.98...she couldn't cancel it , alter it or do anything about it, so she handed me another pack of oranges and £3.98....now how good is that?...

im impressed NMRUN, so you do have some "coupon" morals :p

Me thinks you are not being fair to NMRUN.
If you're honest do you/would you like to do as s/he suggests s/he does? If only all stores were that friendly.

I believe it is Tesco recruitment policy to recruit grumpy, aggressive, self obsessed staff who think they are directly related to Mr Tesco and will suffer financially if a 'customer' dares to use an internet coupon within their store.

I believe the bit I've stuck in bold too......don't they have a profit share scheme?
I know I would be p"ssed off at someone coming through my till (hypothetically speaking) and stealing money from my pocket, by using a coupon that my company couldn't redeem.
Ok we are only talking a spit in the ocean of Tesco's profit, but I think most of us would look at it like this, if we swapped positions

However, I would be delighted at some-one coming through, with legit coupons that would give my company extra money.
A 2p handling charge per coupon can create a significant amount of wealth....especially when compared with having to pay a handling charge for, say, Amex or even other less expensive (to the retailer) cards.
    ....
And as for being unfair to NMRUN...if I was personally told, by the supervisor on duty, that it was ok...I can't see myself leaving the store while they were still on duty, as long as it was consistent with the manager's policy.

I don't believe in short term gain, if it will spoil the long-term policy...but I guess I've made that point before;)

I think I would even search through the clubcard deals brochure for daily van hire:rotfl:and I certainly wouldn't have time to sit around on chat forums as work happens around me:D

this member NMRUN is a wind up merchant. but for the record, here is why it shouldn't be practised,

    hi MFB,
    yes im very honest
no i dont/wouldn't do what he/she does because.............to use the SAME bundle of coupons many many times a day in one store is a sure fire way to get that stores policy reviewed/stopped. so many coupons from one customer, if we all did this, coupons given would far outweigh the sales...............not enough slaes................coupons immediately stopped, as is proven with several past ones.........mitchum, whiskey, ok mag, etc etc it is just sheer greed. I do hope newbies understand this bad practice.
EDIT:- to have many many different coupons (i wish) ..........go for it, just not repeat bundles. as we all know the policy is one of each coupon, unless buying the product. so dont spoil it for the rest of us.

    ..........................yep...............TOTALLY AGREE!!
keep up the boycott folks......every little helps.

I never use an out-of-date coupon. I will never knowingly use a coupon that I know Tesco won't get re-imbursed on. I don't know why people are having a problem because my Tesco is so coupon-friendly.
  • I don't visit every day either, usually about twice a week, so I can't see how they could possibly sell less of the product that I use coupons for. I think a lot of this stems down to jealousy. I can bet most people on here would do the same if their Tesco allowed it. I am not stealing nor am I doing something illegal, and if anyone has a problem with that TOUGH.
