When I did a quick shop in Tesco on the way home from work last night, none of my extra-specially-friendly cashiers were working and I was forced to use the till of a grumpy one. She grudgingly accepted my MOCs (it was almost as though scanning each one was causing her physical pain), and then to my delight the till spat out a couple of MOCs along with the till receipt (£4 off a £20 spend, and 40p off Whiskas).
Grumpy till operative almost choked. "I can't believe you have been give MORE money off coupons!!" she spluttered.
"I know!" I said, "It's a hoot, isn't it?!"
"I never get any when I shop" she moaned "How come you always seem to get them?"
"Mister Tesco loves me more than he loves you, that's why" I said, as I skipped off out of the store.
She's probably sticking pins in a wax effigy of me right now.0 -
QUESTION: What constitutes ‘abuse’ of the coupon policy?
ANSWER: Examples of abuse are: using out-of-date coupons; splitting shopping into several loads and using duplicate coupons on the same day; photocopying or scanning coupons. Abuse may result in the store taking action against you personally (eg banning you) and ultimately may affect the coupon policy for all coupon users.

It varies from store to store and Mad only has a rucksack for his shopping :rotfl:Also last year I remember being showed a copy of one "in-store" coupon policy that actually said photocopies were acceptable (not that I would condone it) We don't want to put limitations on our coupons that T's haven't even thought of
...What you do is
1) carefully cut out all the barcodes from your discount coupons
2) arm yourself with a roll of sellotape or preferably quick drying glue
3) stick your barcode over the barcode of 2 out of 3 of the products you want to buy...that way you get money off instead of having to pay for the item.
4) make sure you do a song and dance routine while the SA is scanning...that way they may be so bemused at what you are doing they might not notice
5) pack all the items in the car
6) come back in and do it all again
I do this 15 times every morning before breakfast, because the area manager phoned me up and said it was ok to do it, as long as the store wasn't busy.:p:rotfl:It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)

Oh my god! That's brilliant. I have 470 packs of Avery address labels right here, and I'm going to start printing barcodes NOW! How come I never thought of doing this before?
See you in Pentonville!0 -
ps: what song should we sing during the distraction-song-and-dance routine? I'm thinking of doing the Macarena.0

I think one of the Russian [STRIKE]Kosack[/STRIKE]Cossack dances is my favourite, :beer:while the SA is leaning over the counter to see if you have fallen over yet :cool:she/he can't see what's happening on the checkout screen.:p
It's also very useful for people with bad memories, because if you get the words wrong, very few people notice
edit: Thanks CJ for the correct spelling...I even typed it into google as a quick check...and a whole pile of dances came up....amazing how much mis-information you can get on-line.;)It's nice to be nice .....

I don't think me knees are quite up to a Russian Cossack dance, somehow. I could do something involving lots of arm-flailing though. Possibly "I'm a little teapot".0

I'm visiting friends in Gateshead soon & obviously I'll be making use of there PC whilst i'm there, but I was wondering if anyone knew how the Gateshead Tesco is with MOCs.
I obviously don't want them to be the victim of abusers, so if they are friendly it might be better to PM me.
Thanks in advance.0 -
