well my courier recently left my parcel in my wheelie bin
and yes it DID have rubbish in it (YUK)
so I contacted Hermes the courier company by e mail and said
" if I am not in - please do NOT leave parcels, please re-deliver"

to add insult to injury the parcel had gold sandals in the box instead of black as I ordered
sent it back and ordered a replacement

gets home the next week to find parcel on the doorstep with door mat pulled over it ( presumabley to "hide" it)

I live right next to a secoandary school - if it hadn't been easter holidays, there is NO way the parcel would have still been there when I got home
so I e mailed them AGAIN..... how hard is it to re-deliver if I am not in??
or even to leave with my neighbour??

I think the problem is that a lot of these delivery companies sub contract to local individuals, who only get paid per parcel, whether they attempt delivery once or 3 times. As they are using their own cars and paying for their own petrol, they will always try to deliver and if you are not in, leave the parcel somewhere on the first attempt, to save their time and petrol money. (I know this definitely happens with parcelnet)
