God! You must all live in huge houses! Plenty of overtime at my place and at wifes, but would rather have time at home than ££££. Life is too short!

I work an average of 50-60 hours in a 5 day week and also do paperwork at home. Unfortunately I don't get paid overtime for what I do, its just expected of me to get the work done, no matter how long it takes. Before someone says it, no I can't work any faster, bioscience will only go as fast as nature tells it to ;) If I did get overtime I would be rolling in it as I have done alot of 16 hour days and reularly work 7.30 until 18.30.

OH works shifts of between 35-72hrs, he does get overtime so if an appliance breaks or we need a new carpet he does a few extra shifts to pay for a replacement :D

We don't have kids so we take fab holidays and due to my and OH's flexible hours we can spend afternoons or mornings together if one of us is working all night.

I work 40 hours a week and OH works 60-70 hours. I work days and OH nights so we pass each other coming in/going out. Kids are 4 and 6 so will probably become a bit less hectic as they get older and I am studying for a Law degree at the min too which when finished will free up some time!

Sadly not. We are infact, not homeowners, but are hoping to buy soon. Dh is not paid for hours above ''normal'' full time hours, but it is expected of him, across the industry, and he has a job, forwhich we are grateful. :)

I agree about the life is too short. In fact, part of the idea is to get everything sorted so that he can retire early later on.

Define work. OH works around the usual 37.5 hours a week not including travelling (he often goes around the country for meetings) and I work at home, so it varies in terms of paid work, but I also do the cooking, most of the cleaning, all of the organising of birthday cards and gifts, etc., and as I am growing a baby right now I reckon I work all the time! :D

If you are only talking paid work, I think I do on average three or four hours a week but I'm on maternity leave really so I'm not trying to get too much in. As long as I earn more than benefits at this stage I'm happy.

OH works 8-5 weekdays. I don't work. I don't expect him to do any housework at all and I wouldn't let him do any of the cooking even if he wanted to:D

I do the standard 37.5 hours a week, then the house when I come home. He doesn't work but looking after a house and 2 kids is hard work according to him so I do that as well., he basically makes sure they're safe and does the school run

OH works 2-10 Monday-Friday, he only ever does overtime at Xmas.
I work 37.5 hours, mainly unsociable hours as a nurse. no overtime though...
OH does cooking, I do washing and cleaning in lieu of payment as OH pays the mortgage and all the bills...

Hubby has just started a new job at 40 hours a week, 44 if he choses to do a Saturday overtime. I'm at home with our 3 children.

I try not to get at him as soon as he comes in the door, or ask him to do chores or things. Once he has had time to relax he will be ready for some quality time. (and to take the bins out:p)

Usually more than 60hrs per week
I work 20 hours a week and OH works at least 50 (he is a police officer and works a rolling shift pattern of 5 days on 4 days off, 6 days on, 4 days off). Often has to work on which could be as much as another 8 hour a shift but he usually turns down planned overtime as he likes his rest days as his work days are so long and he gets very tired and stressed some days.

I do all the household things like cooking, cleaning, shopping and I even mow the lawns. Plus I run DD around and keep control of where she needs to be.

OH does make me a cup of tea when he's here though and I love my one in bed in the morning.

We are also the only carers for his elderly mother.
