Luckily the accident was not your fault. Its fairly easy to sort out assuming the other driver is not disputing liability. Just give the other drivers Insurance company a call and advise them you want to claim directly off them. They should then get the ball rolling and instigate repairing your car and providing a courtesy car etc.
The other drivers insurance company will not normally be interested whether you were insured or not. Even if they discover you were not insured they are still liable for the claim so will pay it.
If you have any problems post up here and we will help you out.
Learn from your lesson and always make sure your car is insured, the matter could be a much worse if you had hit a pedestrian etc0
