Finally got my IPA questionnaire over the weekend
They've confirmed that they are capping my "rent" at £700 pm (mortgage is currently 1100) now here's the question, as they've effectively found £400 or so spare, can I tweak my figures a bit, not to take the **** but just to account for things I didn't include previously as there was no space in the budget... Thinking along the lines of shopping, holidays etc.
When I went BR I was on jobseekers allowance so monthly budget was somewhat theoretical based on what I was expecting to earn...
Also have been running a car which I need to travel for work, car belongs to my mother but I tax/insure it should I tell the OR and budget for this or try and keep it under the radar?
Any thoughts?

I filled in about 5/6 I&E forms and adjusted them accordingly. For example when i was on JSA i kept things to the bare minium,as i could not afford things like holidays and food bill was cut to the bare bones,. When i became re-employed i put the figures back up.
As for the car in order to get the allowances accepted you would need to tell the OR about the car.
Good luck with it. If you want you could always pop it on here and let us give it the once over.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

This is what I've tweaked so far, am hoping on the basis that my £1100 mortgage has been knocked back by the OR they will be more lenient with other items:

Is any of the benefits made up of child benefit. If so list it separately , it cannot be used for assessing IPA.
How old is your child? If school age did you list school dinners?

OK have upped a couple of your expenses. There are some which the OR may cut back on,which i have put a small blue mark by,but leave them and see what happens. A lot depends on your OR. So my advise is in no way definate. Good luck with it.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Other travel is train fares to work @£17pd/£55Pw
Child benefit is included in the total income so should be removed
Gas / Electricity are as billed (actual not estimated_
Just thinking, both of us wear glasses should I add something to prescriptions to cover that?0 -
Yes add something for opticians, could also try for dry cleaning, another grey area but if you need smart clothes for work you might be able to argue it. The rest looks ok so go with and hope it all gets agreed.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
