    Ring this number

    Acer Service and Support - 0870 853 1000

Tell them your problem, ask them what you can do about it.

Ok phoned them, they aren't interested that its a problem with the battery they want the netbook and battery returned which will take weeks. This is ridiculous it just needs battery replacing.

Its a start, as they will return the laptop in the end..

    3 options here..

    a) You keep it, buy a battery yourself. About £90
    b) Return to asda, repair or replacement
    c) Return to acer for a battery change & service FOC

The good news with asda, is that they might have some in stock so swap the battery. Other things i would consider is swapping the harddrives over. Keeping the computer the same.

That's exactly what I expected Acer to say, because they cannot verify for themselves that it is the battery that is at fault. Which is why I suggested you go to Asda and see if they will swap out the battery for you.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I am going to try Asda in a bit but it is very unlikely they still have stock.

Yes, but what have you got to lose?
If it goes back to Acer it shouldn't take weeks, because the fault is quite clear. They will have it the day after you send it if you use a good courier. I would be surprised if takes more than a week to get back to you. But make sure you back up before you send it, in case they just replace the whole laptop.

  • You should see if you can take it back and get a refund. Or see if you can get another chord for it and see if it works then.

£90?!?! Found one on eBay for £19.99 from a Private UK Seller on Buy It Now or you can get an alternative brand new one for about £35
