Ive only seen a few but they have been massive, like little flying mice, think they've been eating their chums.

We've got the mutant ones here, too. They're like cats with wings.

I've seen a fair few huge bees here too. And spiders, I saw one the size of a small island in the garden this morning. I'm sure I heard it walk away from it's hidey hole under last years gro-bag.

I haven't seen a ladybird in my garden since the one I saw last year. I've seen plenty of queen workers over the past few days, but if you observe the garden closely you may also see them dead on the ground near plants etc

I've found 7 dead bees over the past two weeks in my garden. I've been keeping count. I have a sponge on a garden cane soaked in sugar water in case they get hungry.

just to say its not the dear old bumble bee thats in decline its the honey bee

It's the honeybee and the reason they are in decline is a mite which is killing them. Apparently there are lots of different species of honeybee and its a serious problem so I've been told by someone who keeps bees because the mite is easily transferred. If they all died out, no pollination, no crops, no food for us...

I think I might do this too.

Do you dissolve the sugar in warm water first and how much sugar to water?

I am holidaying in Costa Del Runcorn at present and have seen lots of huge bumblebees coming inside my mother in laws house. Maybe it is just the one but maybe not.
