Should really be a £2500 allowance, cars cost more in the UK than in Europe. The conditions are likely to be similar to those in the Citroen and Vauxhall schemes that are currently running.

Even if I traded in my old car and got £2000, where would I get the other £1000's to buy the new car? Sadly I'm not made of money.

Besides, keeping your old car is more environmentally friendly than buying a new one every few years. Aren't we always being told to recycle in this country?
