 You mean we have to work on public holidays?

Oh....yeah...I forgot for a minute - that's how it works with houses and kids! ;)

Well then, I suppose I'm in too!

Toots - your treatment is tomorrow, right? Lots of vibes coming your way.

    hex -
Does anyone fancy a flylady meet at the BBC Gardeners World Live show in June?
ooh, yes!!! But I'm not sure of the dates, and I'm already booked for one weekend in June...

ETA - now read on, and that's the weekend I'm already booked.:(

I have spent most of the late afternoon catching up on the thread, and now you're all over here on the new one! So just to keep it relevant, I have done nearly all the washing from holiday, and only stopped because I had no more clothes I could tumble, and had completely run out of hanging space... I'll finish tomorrow. Strangely looking forward to cleaning the kitchen. Although I did a speed clean of the holiday house before we left, and have now decided that too many bathrooms/en suite are not a great idea if only one person is cleaning them...Pottered around the garden this afternoon, as we had lovely sunshine. Cut back some tatty clematis (left it too late again), and sowed some flower seeds, parsley, basil and chilli. Admired the lovely pea seedlings (in gutter - thanks dusty!) and lettuces. I'll harden them off this week, then plant out next weekend - if I have time. Little brother's wedding Saturday.

It's a pleasure. Thanks for telling me about Lent. I've got one more question tho, I thought Jesus wandered in the wilderness after his baptism, not before his death. Am I being thick and missing the point? Why do you do it at this time of year?

Rose, I ain't a vicar! Nor an Elder! And I don't generally do dogma or doctrine. But yes, Jesus wandered in the wilderness after his baptism and before his death according to the religion I was brought up in. And Easter, I believe, is done at this time of year - all to do with the first sunday after the first full moon type of stuff. Probably on the basis of an old pagan festival. But hey, as I say, I don't do the doctrine or dogma!

I will start my 10 a day throw outs in the morning you'd better be with me Hex!

Serena/Tag - It is Wed 10/Thu 11 or Fri 12 June - then I can be child free, w/end I would have to bring the boys which is just no fun at all for them or for me. £6 for a ticket via Tesco clubcard, although I just googled 'win gardeners world tickets' and entered lots of competitions.

I have done as much as I can tonight, sloping off to bed with the magazine mountain as the first part of my slinging. I shall go through and chop out the bits I want and donate the rest. Country Living/Ideal Home/Gardening etc for the last year or so which I shall put them out for the scouts who distribute them to local places. 40 or so magazines at £3 plus a time - makes you think doesn't it!

Soappie - I will be up and slinging bright and early. The children don't give me a lot of choice!

  • Thank you to pigpen and toots for the lists and stars and yes I too would like to be joining you again this week.

tag Well done on the ironing. I also used to have an ironing mountain many moons ago. No longer - I don't do much ironing at all if possible but this morning I decided to do an HHI as the ironing board was already out in the lounge as I had been Vliesofixing the applique for my patchwork quilt. I had to iron the linen napkins that some silly person gave to the guests last week.

hex - Still don't think I'll be able to make it as I work Thursday, and am booked Saturday. I have done Birmingham in a day, but it means leaving at 5am, and then I'll be shattered the next day. Ah well, another time.

    Evening flypeople

I'm in again...think I'll make a start on the kitchen. The dining room floor is very mucky after my shenanigans in the garden. Also, I need to work out how to transfer pics onto the pc from the camera/mob. That will definately occupy me for the rest of the night :D

rosepink - I think we observe lent at this time of year as a period of reflection and contemplation in the run up to Easter as it is meant to be the most important period in the Christian calendar. Does that make sense? I do enjoy hearing about everyone's different faiths and getting a different point of view.
