Suggest us a destination please

Would anyone like to suggest us a suitable holiday please.

Its needs to be abroad and hot ( no rainy days!), prefer short flight. Not France.

Cheap, for 1 week in the school holidays/half term this year or the easter break next year. Happy with self catering.

2 adults and 2 children aged 2.5 and 6yrs.

Walking distance to beach and restaurants etc. Do not want to hire a car.

Don't need entertainment or to spend £££ visiting the local attractions, just want to do free things with the kids, walks, beaches, pool, perhaps the kids can make friends. Away from the 18-30 holidays.

Need to speak some english, couldn't even make ourselves understood last year asking for a highchair in france. We ended up in a very remote part of south of france. Also anything like benidorm would drive us nuts, if its like the series.

Greece or Egypt. I love both. I went twice to Glyfada (20 years ago, mind) and it is a resort on the edge of Athens with beach etc. I did a Nile cruise in Egypt, Luxor to Aswan. If you want a beach holiday there, try Sharm.

Benidorm doesn't have to be like the series. I've been 3 times and it was nothing like the TV show! Just depends where you choose ;)

Canaries is going to be virtually guaranteed sun now until the winter.

Hiya, Spain would be a short flight with 2 young children.
To go in the school holidays needs some planning as to cost. I would start with the holiday mags and look towards getting a child free place with a second child for something like £99. theese places tend to get booked up early. We also like to book SC as it gives you more space and a kitchen.
Try looking on www.alparooms.com they have lots of idea's.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

I also recommend alpharooms - used them for almost every holiday I've had over the last 5 years. Go through quidco for some cashback as well ;)

Santa Ponsa in Majorca is lovely in April - still low season so not busy at all, the weather is 16 to 20 degrees, so lovely to walk around in, but not too hot for the kids to be out playing in it.

The hotel we stayed in did half board, and we though we'd end up eating out because it would be awful, but it turned out to be really nice, a great variety of everything each day, kids food too, and had free entertainment on till about 11 oclock every night- not blaring discos, just family things like bingo, karaoke, so the adults could have a couple of beers and the kids could run around the dance floor with the other kids in the hotel.

We were given a family room which had one bedroom with ensuite, and a large lounge with big sofa beds.
