O2 Free Texts & £50 - HOAX

Somebody has been sending out a text supposedly from O2 stating that all 'O2 to O2 texts are now free' and 'foward this text to 20 people and get a £50 free top-up'. I smelt a rat, it seemed far too good to be true and I rang O2 to check and it does appear to be a hoax. :mad:

All I can say is its in very bad taste; my sister who is much younger than me spent all her pocket money topping up her phone and fowarding this text before I found out.

Yup, there have been similar messages targeted at other phone companies circulating for the last few months.

You can get a PAYG tarriff where o2 to o2 texts are free when you spend £10 a month and calls are free from O2 to O2 if you spend £15.

Very similar to the american version of it.
