Barclays £50.00 cashback

just done the pricematch, got my quote for £1 cheaper in the end, and a £50 cheque!:j

now all i've gotta do is tell my brokers (who think it is their god given right that i insure everything with them!) i'm not renewing.:D

Got a letter back from Norwich Union (administering insurance on behalf of Barclays), agreeing that T&C's are misleading and agreeing to pricematch deal.
However, have got a quote from Lloyds TSB that is roughly same as renewal but there is £80 cashback via Quidco.

Got a good deal with Barclays last year, free plumbing and drainage cover worth £60 thrown in with building insurance. However when doing a BT with Barclays just after Xmas the agent put me thru to their Insurance Services to do the price challenge as they now have a new provider. Sure enough, the price quoted was higher than my current, as the plumbing and drainage was now chargeable with the new provider. So on the basis that it is like for like I was eligible for the £50 cheque.

Sent off all the documents, and am still waiting for my cheque. Made 4 calls now - anyone else had difficulty getting their cheque?

I had a letter off them yesterday about the Guarantee to beat renewal and £50.
My renewal isn't until June so...on the letter was a little slip to sign and send back to them alerting them to my renewal date and to keep the offer open to me until then. I think that is a great touch by Barclays and will be taking them up on the offer

They will send you an envelope for you to send your renewal documents to. Mine arrived about five days after my policy documents.

I too have experienced numerous problems with Barclays contents insurance,on 3 separate occasions I have called and been told a claim form has been sent out to me and I have received none of them. Eventually, they gave me the address to send renewal documents to ( I sent them recorded delivery!). I was told on my 4th phone call that my cheque was issued on 21st March and to allow 8 days to receive and have a guess not received yet!

I think Barclays have just changed underwriters to Norwich Union Direct and therefore 'the hiccup may have occured during a period of transitio' - or some other waffle.

I was really pleased with the £ 50 cheque offer, but when nothing arrived in the post after a week I rang Barclays and was told I had cancelled the policy - which was of course untrue. They proceeded to not wanting to honour the cheque offer, so the whole thing appeared like a con. After some pushing they said they would honour it if I sent my renewal form. I am glad to hear other people have received their cheque!
