Advice needed please - Interview with police on Tuesday

Thank you for your reply snuggles. Its helped put my mind at rest a bit. Just a bit of a shocker when I thought everything was done and dusted.
Regarding the settlement outside of the ET. I was advised that if a reasonable offer was made then to accept. This is why ACAS use concilliators to try and stop claims going all the way to the ET. Apparently ET Judges look less favourable on cases when you could have settled outside for a reasonable amount.
One thing I forgot to mention, I complained to the police about a comment the PC made to my former employer implying that I was guilty.
It was looked into and I received an apology. Also the PC has been put on a development course.0 -

No, not yet. He was an employement specialist at the CAB. Will see what the result of this is and then seek further advice from him if need be.0 -

Hi SE, from the ISA's point of view, the significance of the ET settlement will depend upon why you were taking your employer to ET. If it was on the basis that they had unfairly dismissed you (ie unfairly found that you were guilty of theft), then the fact that they offered to settle could be seen as an indication that they accept they were at fault to some degree in reaching that conclusion. However, if you took them to ET due to them offering you hours which they knew you couldn't work, this would be less significant to the ISA, but still worth letting them know about, as it obviously calls into question the employer's handling of the whole situation, and would ensure the ISA are aware of the context.
As I said, you could just try to forget about all this until you hear from the ISA again - it might well be they will take no action anyway. Just make sure you keep any documents you may have which would help your case in the event that they are minded to bar you. I have to say that if the facts are as stated in this thread, I would be amazed if this happened, as I don't see how it could be concluded on the balance of probabilities that you were responsible for stealing anything.sexyeyes83 wrote: »One thing I forgot to mention, I complained to the police about a comment the PC made to my former employer implying that I was guilty.

Assuming you have this in writing, this would be just the sort of thing to send to the ISA if they do write to tell you they are minded to bar you.
Good luck and keep us updated.0 -

Dis you receive the apology in writing? It might be worth submitting to the ISA. If you have any faith left in Stasi Britain.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I think anyone considering a career working with vulnerable people should read this thread. In all seriousness I think people get into that industry without knowing what they might be letting themselves in for and could do with learning about them first.0

It may now be worth asking your newly elected MP to investigate for you, as now we have a change of government there may be more of a will to sort things out. As I posted before, i thought the ISA would rear their head at some stage, so make sure they know the allegations were unfounded, and get the MP if possible to find out how much weight is put on tittle tattle so called evidence in a potential barring decision. Hope all goes well, and try not to stress out unduly.0 -
I just thought id post a final update to this thread!
I got the List 99 back and as expected I havent been added to either list. Ive also got a crb enhanced disclosure back and nothing shows on that.
Ive also just started a new job working school hours in a school as an admin assistant! A very happy ending to a long story!0 -
Hello Sexyeyes.
I was thinking of you recently as there's another care worker posting on this forum with almost exactly the same problem - a confused 94 year care home resident claimed she saw her put a pill in her pocket, and she's been sacked, arrested and questioned by the police, and is now facing a ban from working with older people and children. People working in caring roles are incredibly vulnerable to false accusations.
I'm extremely glad that it's worked out for you after a long period of upset and wish you the best in your new role.0 -

Hopefully the poster from the recent thread will see this and be able to take some comfort from it. Contrary to what the media would have us believe, the ISA do not bar people on the basis of rumour, innuendo, or allegations which are not supported by evidence.
Really glad to hear this all been resolved OP.0 -
