I did send a letter to the police in December asking for my fingerprints and DNA to be removed, however they refused. Ive wrote a follow up letter and also sent a letter to my local MP regarding this.
I don't think you'll have much luck with this, to be honest. The police were removing DNA samples for some people who pointed out the EU ruling that storing them indefinitely is illegal. But the Home Office have since changed the rules so samples are retained for 6 years instead of indefinitely so they can now argue that they comply with the ruling.

The Tories have a campaign about it on their website so maybe you'll have more luck after the next general election.

    Thanks for your reply.

The retaining for 6 years is only proposed legislation at the moment, so the ruling still stands and that is my argument to the local police force.

Excellent, you can put it to bed now. Just make sure all relevant "soft" information held on you is correct, so that the ISA cannot stitch you up under the vetting and barring scheme. Only one on here likely to be miffed is the Anihilator.

I'm delighted you have got a (hopefully good) settlement.

Do please be very careful not to breach any confidentiality or other conditions. There has been a lot posted about this case on this and other forums. Given the unhappy saga you never know who may be looking for a chance to make mischief.
  • Thank you for your replies :)

Oh im going to be very cautious! Not going to fall at the final hurdle!

Well no if the OP was so innocent why not take all her complaints all the way and get publically cleared and all records of it cleared?

Instead she takes a payoff and leaves it all on file.
