  • I now bring in my cereal daily, because if I kept a full box in the office, I would snack on it
  • I read this recently and realised those lunchtime treats soon add up!

"On average we splash out a total of £57,434 before we retire on non-essential treats, according to research released today by CreditExpert.co.uk, the online credit monitoring service from Experian®.

If we cut out indulgences, we could slash a staggering eight and a half years off our mortgage repayments or even increase pension contributions by 50%.

Research among 1,500 people in the UK showed Britons are handing over an average of £1,222 a year on ‘non-essential items’, such as coffee-shop lattes, soft drinks, daytime snacks, lottery tickets, taxis and gym membership that never gets used."

i've been battling with lunches at work for a while now.

i have cup a soups in my drawer and sometimes bring bread and butter with me. Then i find i am so hungry by 10:30 i have the soup and bread and when it comes to lunch time i'm hungry again, and if i don't eat i will go window shopping where i inevitably find 'the bargain of the year'!! Then comes the guilt at having bought something that i would never have known about.

My worst habbit at lunch is to buy hot chocolates from various cafes (usually one per day) They range from £1.50 to £3.19. Why do they taste so nice?! I have hot choc powder in the office but i don't use it.

We only have a kettle here and i don't like noodles etc

Anyway, my plan today is to buy some crisps and eat them with my bread and butter and make today my second day without buying a hot choc. Or i could have my soup now and join the library at lunch.........really want a no spend day!!:D

    i bought the crisps..........

I think I will have to bring my cereal in daily because when I leave a box at work everyone else eats it!! I'm only there two days a week so its usually gone before I get a chance
Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,

I usually take in a job lot of tins of soup, bottle of squash, tin of beans, loaf of bread, loads of crisps type food, and do that on a monday. Usually I have enough to keep me going every day and never need to buy anything. Altho cos I havnet done a big shop recently, Ive fallen foul, quite literally of the works canteen
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
