Just a thought--- I am at home all day so i have lots of time to think of theses things inbetween dropping and picking up children.
i read the what did you spend thread nearly everyday and I am amazed how often " had to buy lunch as i forgot it pops up " so i had this thought
Leave a tin of soup in your drawer or desk or whatever is non perishable as an emergency lunch that way if you forget your lunch it is already at work waiting for you
box of cereal is always handy too this is what i used to do when i worked full time (aah those were the days and i mean that )
Hope this helps at least one person.
Love to all xxx

Good suggestions - I do keep soup and breakfast cereal as emergencies, as well as rice cakes. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. At the beginning of the week I buy some cheese and tomatoes and keep them in the fridge at work. Then in my lunch break I go down to the local Sainsbury's and buy a bread roll for 27p. I know this isn't as cheap as some people manage but it's fresh and tastes good, and costs a lot less than the £2.50 I used to spend at the cafe buying a toasted sandwich.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Surely though if you take a tin of soup you also need to take a tin opener and a microwave?
How about taking a pot noodle? All you need is hot water for that.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Some tins of soup have ringpulls now, but yes you'd need access to a microwave. I've never worked anywhere that didn't have a microwave and fridge.
But Pot Noodles are full of artificial crap! Each to their own, of course, but it's not like they're real food, although filling in a dire emergency. I think I'd rather go and buy a sandwich though. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. Yup that's another good suggestion that I sometimes use; then you only have to fight off the moaners in order to hog the microwave for 10 minutes when everyone wants it!The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. :T Make yourself a sandwich and get one of those toasted sandwich bags. then all you have to do at lunchtime is pop the sandwich in the toastie bag, put it in the toaster (most works have toasters or you can pick them up very cheap these days) and youn have got a nice lunch.0
