thanks, and yes, thanks.....my young son usually spends all his hols at Dad's.....so really, it will be a day's break......but I'm so used to the festive build-up..as one does when one has a family.....that I subconsciously still 'make the effort''....
But son is on autistic spectrum...so doesn't 'eat' what I eat.....last year, I made [myself] a full-house Xmas dinner...all he wanted was toast and marmite!
I/we go with the flow on that one!No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

I love christmas, i love the decorations the food and the fact it brings family and friends together, last year i had a couple of 'gatherings' around christmas, i got guests to bring a bottle and item of food, gave a preference of what id like them to bring if possible, ended up with fantastic parties with little cost to me.. i supplied the nuts! great time of year to get together.
You not got any family you could invite round for dinner? or even invite yourself elsewhere?0 -

well....sadly, no...but then, things are not really quite as bad as they appear, with that reply.
For me, it's about 'being shared'....rather than 'being alone'......my son will require collecting for Xmas night.....as he prefers his bedroom at mine...[and the bed, its a big one]....he quite enjoys the idea of having two present-openings.....
With my family, it's all about communication.....Mum and Dad just happen to live ''apart''....
the food thing was really about me wondering whether, for one person, it was really worth making an effort, or whether to just pay for someone-else's effort? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
