Hello All, got my courage up and collected my registered post - it was just a letter from OR requesting I sign and return TNIDIS letter. What a big baby I am.
Well, look on the brightside, it could have been from a solicitors outlining a secret inheritance for the same sum as you went BR for!!!0 -

Hi all, come in for some tea and sympathy.
Had a car accident this morning - head on smash, me on the correct side of road and other driver overtaking parked car. I ended up going to hospital to be checked out and my back and neck are really sore and stiff - which is to be expected. Went back to have a look at my poor little car and its not driveable - front bumper has dropped and is rubbing on the drivers side wheel. Bonnets all buckled as well. Insurance are sorting it but means my poor little car, that got through the OR, is unlikely to get through the insurance claim due to its low value. Boo Hoo
By the way, do I need to let the OR know?BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500 -

Oh Im so sorry to hear that. Hope you are ok, you must be pretty shaken up!! Sorry dont know about informing OR just wanted to say I had a similair accident couple yrs ago, my car was virtually worthless but I still got an insurance payout? Not sure if thats cos other driver whose fault it was had no insurance so it was all referred to Uninsured Loss Recovery.
But main thing is you are ok, strong tea and a sit down for you is in order!! Hugs to you Ax0 -
Thanks Angie, I expect to at least get a payment for the car if they don't fix it but as its a cheap car it won't be much and I doubt I'll get a similar car again (I was lucky this one doesn't look much but has a low mileage).
I'm resting at home, unfortunately I can't have a bath as my house doesn't have one - only two shower rooms. My son even made me a cup of tea!BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500 -
Late Honey ....:eek::eek:...take it very easy..even though the aching may not seem much back & whiplash can be very painful.
Get yourself to your own GP too. Head on sounds pretty serious & having been in my car when it was written off it is quite a shock ...don`t be surprised if you suffer some bad dreams too.
You will be able to replace the car but don`t forget to get checked out for neck & back damage to yourself. I was hit by a drunk driver over 25 years ago...again not my fault & the compensation at the time is no consolation for the pain I still suffer now.
Take time to recover properly.

Thanks Angie.
Unfortunately this isn't my first car accident but my fourth!! None of them were my fault (as decided by myself and agreed by the insurers) so had whiplash several times and know its going to get worse before it gets better! Already decided I'm going to get to the doctors tomorrow, if I can get out of bed, but was taken to the hospital today in an ambulance attached to a spinal board and assessed by the doctor there
You're right the car can be replaced, just feel like I've lost my independence without it at the moment - now going to be sorted by the insurance companies but if he doesn't admit liability then I could end up paying the excess out of money I haven't got!! :mad:BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500 -
