How to actually use all the 3G phone stuff
Options
I just bought a 3G Nokia 6220c which seems to have every possible conceivable technological feature, except wi-fi. I stuck my old O2 PAYG SIM in it and I could still make voice calls and send texts - but that's it. A really helpful lady in the O2 shop swapped my credit onto a brand new SIM and that did help slightly by enabling some very slow surfing via the phone's internal browser.
How do I use the HSDPA to get really fast downloads for my laptop? How do I let all the onboard applications also get a data connection? (google maps doesn't work at the moment cos it can't get data.) How do I make a video call? I think I've worked out all the phone configuration features but it doesn't look like my O2 account supports them.
I tried a couple of other network's phone shops but they are just obsessed with making you buy a USB dongle modem.
Is there any PAYG network where I can just get a SIM which lets me do all the things available in the phone?

You need to make sure the phone has all the correct settings for internet access and such... I assume you have a data package, otherwise it'd all be very expensive! Are you in a 3G area?
Once you've got access via the phone, you just need to install Nokia PC Suite on your PC and there's a 'connect to the internet' option in there which uses your phone as a modem, either via the USB cable, or bluetooth.0
