Courier trashed my fragile ebay item (Interlink)

Just for information.......in my experience a courier will not let you check the contents of a parcel before signing for it.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

I guess I will just have to borrow the money off someone so I can refund her. There is no point getting her to send the egg back it's broken and i'm meant to be on a diet anyway. I feel like crying I know it's only £40 but eveytime I feel like i'm making some progress I am going backwards again. No point tryng to claim from courier they will get out of paying as the buyer did not check contents on delivery.
Be cautious that this is only a discussion forum - take very little you read as fact unless backed up with links etc.
Contact Interparcel for advice - you paid them for a service, not Interlink, so maybe they can take it up with Interlink, or provide more facts than this forum. Don't write off the money until you have covered your options. http://www.interparcel.com/contact.php
I've used the Interparcel Titan service in the past (which I guess you may have used due to the size) without any problem, but I noticed that the package was collected in a large box van and not secured down so would have been sliding around when the van was moving. My item was not fragile, but it was big and heavy - if it slid into anything more fragile, I know which would have come off worse.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I had same similar problem, buyer signs for damaged fragile goods,i refund buyer and claim from dhl via pay per parcel, dhl refuse claim as not packaged well enough and item had glass on/in it,i unfortunetely lose all costs.the carrier will find some excuse!!!!stevew8975 wrote: »Be cautious that this is only a discussion forum - take very little you read as fact unless backed up with links etc.

Am I the only one who is suspects that this 'nice' lady has smashed the egg herself?
Why does she need a refund? Surely she is still going to eat it?Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Why does she need a refund? Surely she is still going to eat it?So annoying the lady who purchased said she bought it to auction off for a hospice so I feel even worse.

I admit to thinking the Hospice story was a fib.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Did cross my mind - free chocolate! :EasterBun0 -
I personally would have thought that any Easter auctions would have been started a while ago and anything they were auctioning would have been bought a lot earlier.
Why don't you call her bluff and offer to refund (whether it be a portion of the money or otherwise) but offer to send the money direct to the hospice to save her the trouble?
I am not sure about this, but I think you would have to ask her to open and close a paypal dispute (before you send the money) just so she could not dispute it further along the line.
I have to admin to being another cynic, maybe she just fancied the free chocolate? It is very difficult to break the big thick Easter eggs.
At the same time you really should persue a claim against the courier company. If it was that badly bashed then it should have been noticeable on the box and she might just have made a comment with her signature (that is IF she is honest). If not you could always get back to her and ask why not as the box must have been damaged. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I have emailed her offering her the £39.99 for the egg back as I don't think I am going to have any luck with the courier. Some lovely person sent me a PM saying they like to give to charity and would like to help and offered to pay half the cost in a cheque payable directly to the hospice. I have offered this to the buyer so I await her reply. Obviously I will pay the other half. If I know the money is going to the hospice it would make it seem almost worth it. Will update!!
See there are some lovely people left in this world

So if I refunder her in full through paypal could she then open a dispute - surely it would show that I had refunded her?
I don't know what to do for the best now?0
