The only good caravan is a broken caravan.

Hours I spent behind those shed pulling nightmares on Thursday on the M5.:mad::mad:

Stick to a motorhome - they're much cooler than tugging.

Never understand the type of people who have a nearly new big car to pull their nearly new caravan around the place when for the same amount of money spent on the car/caravan they could spend two weeks in Barbados.

I hate the bleedin' things. There should be special roads for caravaners. My neighbours all pull out in tandem at bank holidays. It makes me chuckle...

My car is capable of more than 40mph on the motorway.

Going around the sheds only puts me behind the truckers along with all the normal people trying to get from A to B :rolleyes:

Its a motorway, can your car not do more than 56? Avoid the caravans AND the truckers? Theres a 2nd overtaking lane, you dont have to sit in the middle lane all day long.

As far as costs go. I towed a 1983 Lynton with a 1984 Rover SD1. Whole outfit for under £1600 (this was 3 years ago). Sold both and now cant justify buying another. Between purchase costs and site fees, it's a false economy.
Insurance costs and storage fees alone would pay for your accomodation anywhere in the world.
    But each to their own

    That's where the caravans are!!

Actually a lot of the problems on the road that are percieved to be because of a caravan are generally because there is a slow car in front and obviously it isn't easy or usually very safe on a single carriageway for a caravan to overtake. Caravaners get stuck behind the snails on motorways too, we can't use the outside lane and the cars that 'sit' in the middle lanes make it difficult to pull out as accelerating quickly is impeded by the 'van!
