Hi,
I was using my Acer Aspire One netbook today when it all froze up, it wouldn't respond to any of the keys or the touchpad. I then turned it off & back on but all I get now is a blank screen.
The Acer logo page comes up on start up but then changes to a blank screen
Any ideas please:o
Oh its running on linux if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance

Thanks d123

But I've no recovery cd, it has nowhere to put the cd.:hello:0 -
Had a similar problem with my daughter's Aspire One. What I did was power down the netbook, remove the battery, put the battery back then connect the power supply. Waited a minute before rebooting & it came back to life!
Try this & hope it works for you too.

Did yours come with USB recovery media?
You can try reinstalling Linpus from that.0 -
I'll try that now Jockthearab ThanksJockthearab wrote: »Had a similar problem with my daughter's Aspire One. What I did was power down the netbook, remove the battery, put the battery back then connect the power supply. Waited a minute before rebooting & it came back to life!

Pop over there & have a look to see if you can find someone with a similar problem
I used that forum quite a lot about Jan this year when I got my youngest her AA1, some really good info especially for someone like me who was a total newbie when it came to linux.
One other thing to try would be removing the battery totally, plug in the power supply & see if you can boot it up.
I seem to remember that this can be a fairly common problem, hopefully you'll be up & running soon again...or taking it back to be replaced

Can you turn the screen brightness up?
Acer are bloody horrible - I've just spent hours trying to fix a friend's Acer laptop.
It didn't have original media but instead had a stupid recovery partition that somehow got corrupted.
I will try and avoid that brand in my future purchases.0 -
Hiya, yeah I just checked & I can turn the brightness up & down. Thanks
