whoops just noticed I am getting a little bit off track my original question was "where can I find the last definition file update for SE before lavasoft stopped supporting it ?" anyone have any idea ??oh right that makes sense thanks alien, I will keep spybot and its IMMUNISE feature then, I use adaware se in addition to other products, in your opinion alien what is the new ad aware anniversary program like, is it any better than ad aware 2007, or is it a resource hog too ?0 -
What definitions version do you have?
AFAIK SE1R343 16.03.2009 was the last one.Stompa0 -

It appears on the opening screen. It seems I was wrong though, there's a slightly later version (SE1R345 30.03.09) available here:

Thanks stompa that is exactly what I am looking for - the very last definition file for the SE version, how did you find it I searched the lavasoft website and all I could find was someone on a forum saying that all support for se had ended.
I also found out how you find out the name of the def file you are using - like you said when you open the program up its beside the definition file - mine was SE1R 343 16.03.09 but now I have the newest (and the last) file.
I wonder if they will ever start releasing the odd updated def file for se version now and again as quite a few people still want to use it.
Thanks again for going to all the effort of finding this for me stompa its much appreciated
Best wishes

I think it's very unlikely. You could maybe try checking that link periodically and see if it updates, but I bet it doesn't.
FWIW I've just installed AE, and it seems fine. By default it does seem to run a process all the time, but this can be disabled.Stompa0 -
yes I will give the site a check now and then to see if any new files are posted because se is on borrowed time without updated def files but I also think its highly unlikely that new files would be posted, I might give the AE version a go several months down the line with the background process disabled.I think it's very unlikely.
