Getting Vistron TV to AV?

My landlady bought me a TV which is a Vistron 17' LCD.

I have attached a freeview box to it but can't seem to get the TV to go to AV so that I can use it.

I can press 'Mode' on the remote which brings up an option to turn it to AV, so I scroll to that then press OK but nothing happens.

Anyone got any ideas? Have tried everything I can think of.

Thanks in advance.

How have you " attached " the Freeview Receiver to the TV?

If it is via Scart Lead, then it should work OK.

If your TV has 2 Scart Sockets, try changing the Scart Lead to the other one.

Yes it is via scart lead and only has one scart socket. :(

    This worked! Thanks :D:D

Someone should really tell them that their instructions are wrong!

If the TV is new, it should have Freeview built in, have you checked?

It doesn't mention is anywhere in the manual or on the box so I don't think it has.

Now the freeview still won't work

The TV is working fine. The freeview isn't working. It is asking us for an installation code (4 numbers) and we haven't a clue. Got the box from ebay about a year ago and I am sure we have had it working before.

    I give up!

We've tried all them. Might have to get a new one I guess.

Have tried all the 1111, 2222, 3333 ones and 1234, etc.
