Judi wrote:Is anyone having problems with getting responses from Tesco when you have a problem?
About 3 weeks ago, i complained by email when a bottle of bleach leaked and ruined my top as i lifted it out of the basket. I emailed them, and they replied saying they were going to look into it. To this date ive heard nothing.
Last week i emailed cause my £15 code was not credited to my account. Again, i got the usual 'we will get back to you' sort of email, but they havent.
I know i ought to ring them, but if they question where i got the code from, i wouldnt know what to say.
I am wondering if i am being singled out.
I have been waiting since Saturday for a reply to a complaint email (as I was still waiting for a receipt for some shopping that had been delivered on Monday - having already phoned CS twice). I did get my bonus points but even with these wont be using for a while as not worth the stress. Still not had a receipt for a refund on some cheese that had not been delivered - 8 days after delivery.0 -
Phew! I finally finished reading through this entire thread, and have a couple of questions for you experienced online shoppers:
1. What is the reason for starting a new order with high value items (such as Whiskey etc) and then cancelling them later?
2. What is meant by 'banking' codes for future use, I cannot see this anywhere on my account or order page?
3. Are the codes listed on blogspot available for all to use legitimately?
4. Could you pay the full price of a high value deal (such as a holiday) entirely in vouchers, if you had them, or do you have to put cash towards this too?
Cheers

1/ The reason for starting an order with whisky is to get the order over the minimum spend in order to use a discount or points code. If you want to get the delivery slot of your choice you can't leave it too late and once you've checked out you can't add a code. So you start your order a week or two before your delivery date with a couple of expensive items and go back to your order any time up to the night before delivery and swap the whisky for what you really need. I don't have a shopping list in my kitchen I just log on and add items as they run out!
2/ There's a place to bank codes when you enter your codes whilst checking out. If you enter several codes it uses what it can and saves the rest for future orders which it's suposed to use automatically but I never use this I just store mine on postits. The problem is I've herd other people say that they don't always use the best value ones first or in date order. If you don't bank them you can choose which you'd prefere to use.
3/ Blogspot say they will only list codes which are generally around such as in mailings and magazines not those sent specifically to individuals (eg as compensation for a late delivery.) Sainsburrys got upset about websites sharing codes and asked them to stop, which they did. Tescos could quite easily do the same but haven't so as long as tesco are happy to take them I'm happy to use them!
4/ Yes if you could collect enough points you could pay for an entire holiday in deal vouchers or you could make up the difference in cash. The only catch is that you may not be able to use them with other promotions, the small print says not but I have heard of someone who says they did. I thought I could save mine for a trip to Butlins next year but by booking early this year I got it half price. If I used points I'd need to pay full price (but then at four times face value it would still be cheeper!)
Hope this helps ,Billy!0 -

I thought that if your bill on delivery was less than the minimum spend you didn't get the points or the money off?

just a quick question about starting your order with the expensive thing then swapping it later. If i make my order up and get to £75.00, then add my code for 1000 extra lovely points. Then swap the bottle of whisky for less desirable items such as food, will the point be deducted if i don't make the minimum spend?
and does anyone have any 1000 extra point codes, I'm on to the 500's now and feel quite cheated. used the blogs site, but i've used all those.0 -
Question:
If we bought goods and earned points from the purchase, are the points taken off you if you subsequently return the item?

I have been shopping online @Tesco for just over 6 months, saving for Florida,
£1200 worth of deals so far.
Anyway I always fill up my 'basket' over the required amount, then after the order & points confirmed I remove items I dont need,If it's £75 spend giving 1000pts,I'll usually knock it down to £65 & I always get the points.
Hope that helps
There's also nearly aways something missing,When I ring they refund twice the amount straight away, no complaints from me!!!!:)0 -
Goodscams, I when I delete the whisky I substitute it with groceries of equal value so I'm still over the min spend.
Hawki is lucky to get away with going under the min spend. I always make sure I'm well over the min spend (before delivery and deducting bogoffs) as I once had a delivery which came below the min spend due to cheeper substitions and several unavailable items. The delivery note said "you have not been able to use this code today but will be emailed to let you know how to use it on your next shop". No email came but I did manage to persuade the lady on the phone to credit the points as substitiutions aren't my fault.
I'm not sure how returned items affect points.
I used to use cash off codes and I got away with using loads of bogoffs which made the bill look big at checkout but way under the min spend on delivery.
Tescos is so hit and miss. They seem to be stricter on points and extremely reluctant to honour wine points!0 -
So what your all sayin is ....that it is well worth joining Tesco for the points system??If you dont ask you dont get!!0

I have a question
I have ordered some books from Tesco Extra. I used a code for 500 extra points.
I have waited for nearly 2 weeks for delivery and I am tempted to cancell it, but I do not want to as I do want my 500 points.
Do you think I will get them if I cancelTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
