  • I remember at Christmas trying to put things through the till in order so got the 3rd one free rather than just the cheapest items out of my whole lot, but the SA told me they group the 3 most expensive items together on a 342 then you get the cheapest of them 3 free.
    I.e
    2 x no7 items for £10
    1x no7 item for £9
    1x no7 item for £6

You would get charged £26. which would be 2X£10 items (£9 item free) then the £6 item.
Boots seem very good and actually give you the best deal rather than some shops which just take the cheapes off. Hope I ain't been too confusing.
I may have lupus but it doesnt make me useless! I am a true believer in Karma, and am a typical cancerian. I have a hard outside, but am mushy on the inside.:o

I'm with you there . They are also good like that with the meal deals cos if you bought sandwich, drink, crisps and pack of 3 eggs, they would include the most expensive snack (ie the 3 x eggs) within the meal deal so you would then just pay the extra for the cheapest thing , if that makes sense :D
now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it :o

thanks sarnd, cause i always wondered that! What would have happened if i'd thrown a pack of chewing gum in with my 3 pack of creme eggs and then i'd have to pay for the eggs IYKWIM!

    My meal deal today was great value, a smoothie £1.80, sandwich £2.30ish and a pkt of 3 cream eggs £1.26ish = £5.36ish - so paying £2.99 is a bargain!!!!:T

had to pop in to return my dentyl mouthwash - what a palaver, if any one else is going to do that, be prepared for the usual SA knows-it-all carp (sorry to the lovely ones, but I seem to get some right jobsworths sometimes ) Stand firm, you do not need a letter from boots HO (???) tell them you've spoken to cs, you are entitled to a refund because it is a ntional product recall and they should ring cs themselves to confirm it. After all that I was too hot and bothered to have a look around, (it was heaving) but noticed they still have the vichy gwp near the front of the store, and a few of the reduced cosmetics cases left. hth

If you wanted to buy 4 items but they were all on 342 and the items were
    £10
    £10
    £9
    £6

the till would give you the best deal so
£10 + £10 + £9 ( but free on 342 as this is best deal for customer) = £20 then the £6 item so total would be £26

however if you went to another store and they were taking part in a 342 promotion they may do £10 + £10 + £6 ( but free as the cheapest ) = £20
then the £9 item so total would be £29

The boots tills seem to group the 342 as the best offer for the customer and not neccasarily the most expensive option
This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

The Vichy go through without a sound there too.

Thank you very much BBB for the explaination.
  • Evening all, found some dkny be delicious gift set for £12 purple bottles, so look out for them in your locals. If you buy the same size perfume on its own, its £34 so quite a saving plus you get a body lotion and nice tin thing. HTH
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!
