Fish cakes for freezing?

Minda - mine never stay together either - tried with egg, without egg, dry mash, wetter mash - nothing works!

chocolatepennyfarthing - tuna and mashed potato mixed together to form fishcak shapes, dip in egg then into breadcrumbs - that's it!

What a co-incidence, these are on my meal plan for dinner tonight! I too have the same problem, I can never seem to get the consistency right and I def prefer to oven bake rather than fry. If anyone has a foolproof method for the perfect tuna fishcake, please share!

Hi, if it is any help I have made tuna fish cakes on many occasions and I find that if you refrigerate them for about an hour before you cook them they hold together better. I tend to make them in advance and put them in the fridge to chill for a while. This works with burgers as well.
