Hi there we are a family of 4 adults and 2 children looking to visit New York from 26th May-30th May. We have been searching now for days to no avail to try finding hotels in New York, preferably Manhattan as there are 6 of us pushing prams, taxis etc may be nightmare. Prices are crazy!!!
Does anyone have any help as to how to find a cheap but safe hotel somewhere central for our stay?
Any help would be kindly appreciated. Many thanks

Have a look on Anything & Everything New York for loads of info Re: places to stay etc.
for Hotels/appartments try usual expedia, lastminute etc or look on Tripadviser for reviews/contact details of hotels ,may be cheaper booking direct.
Dont think that anywhere in manhatten will be cheap but you may get a good deal.0 -
We are staying in a 3 bed appt in Woodside (Queens) next month. We will need to take a bus or train in for the 10 minute journey, but for 4 nights we are paying a total of $660 - which for the three of us I think is very good!:j0

NY/Manhattan hotel prices ARE crazy. You might need to look a little further afield and expect to travel. Be careful where you book to stay and make sure you check out tripadvisor or similar !0

I stayed at the Wellington Hotel several years ago. I have no idea on price now. It was clean and we managed to get to where we needed from there tho addmittedly we didn't have a pram. The buses we well geared up for wheelchairs and buggys tho if I recall you do have to give exact change.0

It's just round the corner from Macys and in between 5th & Broadway - so you can walk up to Times Square in 10 minutes, or Central Park in 15. We stayed there in December & it was an excellent base for us.Best 2013 win - £2k trip to China!
