Anyone know of any 10 month motor insurance policies?

Means you get your first 1 year no claims bonus quicker, you get it in 10 months instead of a year. As that first year no claims bonus takes a big chunk off your premium its a good deal;)

Now I know they exist, but the results back from the insurance checkers don't tell you if this is available.

Shes is 21, passed two weeks ago & is insurance the new Ford Ka, Zetec model:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Its coming in about £850, with a £250 excess.

i believe direct line offer this, or it might be admiral/elephant.com. I remember we did it but can't remember which of the two it was (we are total tarts when it comes to renewing insurance :D)

having re-read this, I don't think that that price is actually too bad, based on the details you've given - age, new car, gender, only had a license 2 weeks etc

Most companies offer the 10 month thing. just you have to pay a deposit upfront (which is two months worth) so its swings and roundabouts...

Elephant/diamond deffo do the 10 month policies as i've just got my insurance with diamond and that option was there along with the 12 month policy. Check Diamond out as it was by far the cheapest I could find!

The problem with a 10 month policy is when its due for renewal the majority of Insurers will not accept your 10 months as a years no claims bonus. It works well for the Insurer offering the ten month policy is the chances are you will end up renewing with them.

You are normally better off just taking a 12 month policy and then in 12 months time you can go to whoever is the cheapest

After I had my accident, I used it to build up my no claims bonus again.

Worked well for me as I got my new car three days before xmas & who wants to renew their car insurace then every year.

Let me know when its due for renewal MrsE and you have shopped around and found if you had taken a 12 month policy you could have got a better deal with a different company. Obviously you could be one of the people where the company you are with still offer the best deal and then it would have been a good deal for you.

    I did change, I don't even know who I'm with now:o:o:o:o:o:o

But its not the same as last year & I brought my 10 month NCD over as a 1 year.
