thanks everyone!

I now know what I expect to pay so won't be done over.

I did get an e-mail back from a mobile chip/dent repairer from yellow pages and he has quoted £47.50 for the paint chip and £40-£60 for the dent.
I guess I will need to add VAT to this so am looking at about £120 with this guy. The advantage here is that he can coem to me and I don't lose the car.

I suppose the quote sounded ok. Maybe ask the person when they come will it be cheaper if you pay by cash?
