Asda customer services weren't going to refund me today as they said it was only Dentyl affected not their own brand coolmint.
I had to explain the newspaper article, they were only advertising Dentyl as the recall.

Thanks for that, i just phoned Boots careline and the lovely lady said there would be no problem returning them with or without receipt. She said if i had any problems instore i was to tell them to phone customer services.
Returned mine to Boots today. Thanks gunsandbanjos, they weren't going to refund as they said I needed a letter from boots about the recall (???) - but I remembered your above advice and asked them to ring customer services, who, of course, authorised an immediate refund. On the downside they would only give me the money on a gift card because I didn't have a receipt (not a problem for me because I'm in Boots all the time!), on the upside the Dentyl Smooth mint £2.99, Dentyl Exhilaration Icy Fresh Mint £3.71 :D
Thanks for the heads up OP, I never would have noticed it in the papers, MSE is my main source of news these days

I took my 8 bottles (2 Used) back to Sainsburys yesterday (all bought for £1.00 from Morrisons) and made £15.36 profit :D

I posted this on here and on Hotdeals because i thought the way the recall was being handled was disgraceful (page 54 of Thursdays Daily Mail!)

I was so glad of this thread - but do you think i ought to contact the company re my husband feeling ill after using it?
Returned my bottle to Tesco yesterday, they knew nothing but refunded fine without receipt.

  • Just seen this news. I bought some cause it was really cheap and have had a sore throat/cold and generally feeling rough for like 2 weeks now. Just put it down to alot of cold/flu about at the mo - Probably all caused by this mouthwash. I have the clove one too and looking around this seems to be the one making everyone ill. Funny enough the reason i saw the news was as my gums started to bleed and i was wondering if it may of been the mouthwash, Unbeleivable, I will be calling the helpline tomorrow and see what they say when i ask them to pay for my dental treatment as im sure it all relates to this !!
