I bought some of the Dentyl stuff from Sainsbury's recently when it was on offer, but I don't have the receipt any more - can I /should I still return it? Also, what about the bottle we're halfway through?

Sorry if I seem worried here but I don't want to poison us!

Exactly the same situation - I'm taking the 1.5 bottles back to Tesco in the morning (I have to go do a shop there anyway) - and I have no receipt :D

It doesn't matter about the receipt for a product recall. You can also return half used bottles for a full refund

I wouldn't mention that you bought them on the promotion either, the manufacturer will reimburse the stores so they will give you a full refund at the current price which is:

    £2.92 in Sainsburys

    £2.68 Tesco

I know where I'm returning mine to ;)

Thankyou OP - I have around 5 bottles of it! Wehay it was on a BOGOF when I bought it! :-)
  • We bought the Dentyl Smooth mint VISIBLY ACTIVE MOUTHWASH from TESCO last week and My wife used it and an hour later her mouth began to blister and glands began to swell as well as her tongue. As usual, we did not put it down to the mouthwash, because you assume that it is probably an infection or something else. She had to take piraton allergy syrup and Ibuprofen to ease the swelling and pain. Obviously not knowing it was the mouthwash that caused this she used it again and the same happened, so we then knew it was the mouthwash. Then I hear about this product recall. I am wondering if anyone else has suffered with this. I used the mouthwash, but it did not affect me, but everyone is different and certain chemicals can effect different people.

I have nearly used three quarter of a bottle and I know I bought this from Tesco, buy one get one free. Couple of weeks ago, I bought about 6 bottles from Morrissons at £1 each, again do not have a receipt. I wonder whether I can take them to Sainsbury's for a full refund or will the know by scanning that bar code where I bought them from? Thanks

Bar codes are unique to the product not the store you bought them from. You should be fine taking it back to Sainsburys.

The latest information is that the 'microbiological problem' (aerobic mesophile) only effects people with a compromised immune system or pre-existing lung conditions

More info in todays Daily Mail here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1168716/Safety-fears-mouthwash-17-products-recalled-microbiological-problem.html

Hi i have been using the refreshing clove mouthwash now for about three weeks and have suffered from sore throat and blisters on my lips. On Sunday last i started with swollen glands and visited my GP on Monday and am now on antibiotics. It was only when my Husband read the Telegraph today that we realised what was wrong with me.
