I wondered if you could help me. I have a similar problem, I have just had an auction finish for a mobile phone and tom tom where we clearly stated we would post only to the UK. The winning bidders address is in the Netherlands and wants us to send it to his fiances address in Africa. He had 0 feed back which didn't bother me because I also have none as this is my first auction and we all have to start somewhere, but I don't know what to do now because this person has a "fastermail" email address and I'm unsure of using it but I also don't want a negative first feedback. Help what do I do now ?
Just tell them to get stuffed, this kind of stuff is happening to often and ebay needs to sort it out sooner rather than later, causes problems galore and really winds me up0 -
I think you're in the same situation I am - this bidder had a Dutch address too, and wanted it posted to Africa.0

I had the same problem about 1 month ago, ebay needs to sort it out asap0

My OH has a Nokia communicator on Ebay and got an email from an allegedley Nigerian lady wanting the usual...send phone to her son in Africa blah, blah, blah!!! I got him to very quickly go and block this particular bidder and also block anyone with less than 5 feedback(can't believe he hadn't done it before!!!). Upon further inspection the email address was in Sweden.
At least we managed to act before they won the auction...phew!!!
You gotta be SO CAREFUL!!!!!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
Did they also have a " fastermail" email address ? I am really wary of using it ! as I don't want them to get my email address or will they already have that from ebay. What a nightmare and I have found ebay really confusing to use, it must be me !!!0

I wouldn't had a chance to block him as we only had 2 bids in the last 5 minutes though we did have 265 hits0

Unfortunately you can only block bidders with less than zero feedback, there is currently no option to set a higher 'minimum' than that. The only way to get rid of these scammers is to put something in your auction about not shipping overseas due to the amount of 419 scammers operating, let the scammers know you are not a mug and won't fall for it and they will move on.
One of the other regulars on here had a good phrase that I can't find at the moment along the lines of ' no I won't ship to your mother'/ brother/ uncle in Nigeria so please don't waste your time bidding on this auction'.

I've just looked at the details of the second bidder and guess what they are also from the Netherlands :wall:0

Subject: FIB NOTICE: Suspicious Bidder Alert - item #9108583788, Bidder 12preko Received: 06-Mar-06
From: eBay
