What is the symptoms of a head gasket which needs replaced?

Can someone who knows a lot about cars please advise what the indications of a dead head gasket are?

Oil mixed with anti freeze = froffy kinda substance found in coolant tank.
Other symptoms could be lack of power, excess burning of oil, smoking or oil seeping from around cylinder head
Im not a mechanic BTW0 -
the most common one is oil in the water if you take the filler cap off the oil will look all milky,also if you are useing a lot of water but both could also be a cracked head.what car is it ?0

Been there, done that. Mine would usually not fire properly on all cylinders until it warmed up. I often had steam coming out the exhaust too!.0 -
milky oil, have a look under & around the filler cap.Not Again0

When ours went the car got very thirsty and we were putting in lots of water. Also there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust. It also cost a fortune to fix.I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

Milky oil, excessive water use, rough running, steam out of exhaust or a geyser where the radiator cap used to be0 -
